In India there are many online portfolio management tools available, almost all run on similar lines but with some uniqueness. Here I have done a small comparative analysis on 4 free online portfolio management tools in India.
Things to look out for, while searching for a best portfolio management tool:
- Can you track your Equity investment
- Can you track your Mutual Funds investment
- If you can track your other investments like – gold, real estate, FD’s etc.
Most of the free tools available in India will offer Equity and Mutual Fund tracker but not others. Here is a detailed comparison of a few portfolio tracking tools.
MoneyControl One of the oldest portfolio tracking tools:
One of the best and oldest free portfolio management tool in India.
It offers you to track all your investments like – equity, gold, mutual funds, real estates, FD’s, etc.
Moreover there is a mobile app by MoneyControl available on – blackberry, iOS and android phones. You can access your portfolio on your smart phone isn’t that awesome!
MoneyControl also offers snapshot of your portfolio via. email.
It offers almost every thing what MoneyControl offers and also has a mobile app which is quite fast. Infact for me ET mobile app is faster than MoneyControl mobile app.
In addition to this it offers “Tax Wizard” where it will automatically calculate and export your interest income, dividend income, long term and short term capital gains to the Tax Wizard which makes filling returns a breeze.
StockEzy.com portfolio management tool:
It offers you to track your equity investments and offers a value added service in the same – portfolio health checkup. Though its a paid service it looks interesting.
The equity portfolio offers you a snapshot of your investments/current holdings, equity allocation and sector allocation. It also offers you a profit and loss statement i.e. you get a P&L statement in email when you sell a stock.
On a weekly basis you will get a snapshot of your portfolio via email and also a few technical indicators related to your holdings. They also help you with buy or sell or hold decision.
I tried to sign up but there is an error in the SQL database which restricts me from moving ahead so I gave up on this.
There are many more free portfolio management tools – like Business Standard’s, MProfit, etc.
