30 Best Mutual Funds to invest in (Mint list)

There are about 2000 Mutual Fund schemes in the market currently, how would you select a mutual fund which best suites your need?

What are the criterias you look out for when you invest in Mutual funds?

Most people I have known look out for brand name and past performance against benchmark while selecting a mutual funds.

Well, that’s not the only thing once should look out for.

Past performance might not be guaranteed in the future. The funds can perform even better or might perform poorly based on market conditions, asset allocation, stock selection, etc.

Various other criterias which needs to be considered are – the expense ratio (lower the better), underline stocks category, fund managers thought process which is a totally qulatitive factor. The consistence of fund managers should also be considered.

Here is a decent list compiled by LiveMint –

I will be writing a post on how to select a mutual fund soon.

Well as per us the fund has lost its charm. A few mid cap funds look more attractive.
